Which is better for the environment?
Producing a new electric car to replace an older car
Taking the older car off the road for two or three days each week
An estimated 60 million people in the U.S. alone can skip their commute and be just as productive at home. If just one or two percent of these commuters stayed home, the impact would surpass the effect of a million new electric cars on the road. And this change won’t require billions of dollars, just a concerted effort to make it easier — and more accepted — to work from home.
Let’s celebrate Earth Day by skipping the commute on April 17, 2019
Helping people work from home is part of the CO2 solution, just as important as electric cars.

How Telecommuting Helps the Environment
“If everyone who wanted to telecommute in the U.S. was able to do so even half-time, the reduction in greenhouse gas emissions would be equivalent to permanently eliminating the commutes of every worker in New York State”
