Bring your authentic story as a leader of the environmental movement

We hope to create an open, friendly and smart feel throughout the conference. From the very moment our guests arrive, the resort will be a welcoming place where environmental leaders can be themselves, reflect honestly and build authentic relationships.

Even though you’re a leader and speaker, we’re all students of leadership; we all need to “up our game” — to move more quickly and on a greater scale in protecting the planet. As a speaker, you just get to spend more time in the spotlight, telling your story.

core principles.png

To help leaders truly advance over the course of this brief experience, we need to focus on simple but powerful concepts. Please integrate these four principles into your presentation:

Passion

Effective leaders speak with a genuine and unique voice about what they care about and where they’re from. It’s how they establish credibility and create followers.

Where did you get your fire for this cause? When did it start? What early experiences helped to shape what you care about? What personal risks are you willing to take for the planet?

Purpose

In creating the future, effective leaders start with both humility and faith in themselves — with a knowledge of their limits and unique skills.

How do you fit into the environmental movement? What unique capabilities have you proven? What strengths have you sometimes overused? What shortcomings or needs have you had to address?

Partners

Successful leaders open themselves to the universe of possibility, invest time and energy in high-potential partners and collaborate creatively.

Who have you aligned yourself with and what have you learned in the process? What types of partners will you need in the future? Who can you help the most, for the greatest impact?

Picture

Influential leaders spend less time cajoling and managing because they truly lead — they give the world a compelling and plausible view of a better future, and use this vision to align people and resources.

What is your vision for what you or the world will achieve, five or ten years out? What aspects of your vision — or details of your picture — do you think people find most compelling? How have people responded to your vision in the past? In describing your vision, paint a unique picture — with color and emotional detail — that touches and inspires your audience ... and yet seems plausible.

We’re helping leaders “surf the green wave” of concern about the environment, giving them tools and inspiration to reach beyond their circle of colleagues — to influence society-at-large.
